R U OK? Day is on Thursday 10 September 2020. It’s our national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.

To get you in the mood, you can read our book recommendations on team's wellbeing.

As part of this, encourage your team to take part in our #PerkboxSeptemberChallenge - a month of daily prompts to help you and your team prioritise mental and physical health in theme with R U OK? Day: R U OK? 30 day challenge.

Here's how you can launch R U OK? campaign in your organisation to support your team's mental wellbeing.

“Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs.

we'll also be launching an internal R U Okay? campaign.

This week we're starting with your physical wellbeing.

Hi everyone,

To continue our R U Okay? internal campaign, this week we want
to talk about mental health.
Almost half of all Australians aged 16 to 85 years — 7.3 million people —
will experience mental illness at some point in their life.

The most common conditions are:

- anxiety
- affective disorders, especially depression
- substance use disorders, especially alcohol use

The world has been through a global pandemic and whilst we've been
through the same storm, we are not all in the same boat.
It's important to be aware of how you're feeling but also be kind to yourself,
this is not something we've lived through before.

The 'Corona-coaster' is very real and will affect us all differently.
Perkbox has premium subscription to a meditation app to
support your daily mental health.

<See copy below depending if you have Calm, Aura.
If you don't have either, you can promote Boxx>.

** If you have Calm**
Calm has some features that will be super beneficial for you,
your partner or your children. Some of these include:

- Masterclass (including one for parents)

** If you have Aura**

that will be super beneficial for you, your partner or your children.
Some of these include:
- Mindfulness meditations
- Sleep stories
- Life coaching

It'll provide for your daily moment of mindfulness and self-care.
No matter how busy you are, create a daily ritual for your emotional health
with tracks as short as 3 minutes, and up to an hour.

** If you don't have Calm / Aura, promote Boxx **
Boxx doesn't just offer HIIT or fitness regimes, it also provides yoga
and short guided meditation sessions.

WEEK 4: Sep 21 - 25 Look after those around you

  • Create a celebration tag called R U Okay? Day so your team can tag this in their recognition posts and build a momentum

  • Create a poll called "The rock: Who in the business has your back, always ready to lend a helping hand and provide you with a great advice when you need it most?"

  • Top down recognition is very effective, so brief your People Leaders separately and take this opportunity to kick-off an awesome recognition culture. Onboard them for Recognition by sharing this video and use our recognition prompts here to help them get started

  • If you've got a team who's "always busy", set aside a dedicated 'Recognition power hour' - where everyone stops and focussed on giving each other a shout outs!

  • Read our top tips to cultivate a Recognition culture in your organisation

  • Send the email below to the team and get them recognising!

Hey everyone,

Part of R U Okay? is to be asking your team mates how they're getting on. Let's look out for each other as we're currently living in a very
strange time and it affects people differently.

To help get this going, we've:

- Created a celebration tag called 'R U Okay? so use this in all
your recognition posts
- Created a poll called "The Rock: Who in the business has your back,
always ready to lend a helping hand and provide you with a great
advice when you need it most?"
- Setting aside Friday 3-4pm as Recognition Power Hour so you can
put down your tools and vote in the poll and give as many recognitions
as possible to your team mates!

If you don't have Recognition, you can use your team communication channels such as Microsoft Teams, Skype, Slack or even Whatsapp and dedicate a channel for shout-outs!

If you would like access to Recognition, please speak to your Customer Success Manager.

WEEK 5: Sep 28 - 30 Understand your team's wellbeing

Run a Custom Survey to get a temperature check and to remind your team that their wellbeing is your #1 priority.

Some questions you can be asking:

  • <My company> demonstrates a commitment to the wellbeing of employees

  • I believe employee wellbeing is a priority at my company

  • My manager genuinely cares about my wellbeing

  • When I am stressed I feel I have the support available to help

  • When I am down I feel like I have someone to turn to at work

  • I tend to bounce back quickly after challenging times

  • I usually feel I am making progress at work

  • R U Okay? Day internal campaign helped raise my awareness about my own wellbeing

  • I have used Perkbox more because of this campaign

If you don't have Insights, you can also use a generic survey tool to help you understand your team's wellbeing. Please speak to your Customer Success Manager if you would like access to Insights..
